This seems like yet another dubious political event. One wonders what the real purpose of it is - is the BFI trying to extend its sphere of influence into what is - let's remind ourselves - an entirely separate jurisdiction?

Look at it another way - could one see the IFB / IFI holding a similar event in London?

We've already had to suffer the imposition of ideological thinking from the UK in other areas such as "Cultural Cinema".

For all I know this may be an 'away match' invitational for the BFI with a possible 'return leg' taking place in London.

It's not clear what the nature of the 'presentation' will be, or who will be making it so I wouldn't rush to judgement about the event.
